Hello Everyone,

Once again, your friend Tarun Wordsmith is back taking a interesting topic and question from the history. This is the question that might be striking in your mind for many years, and today finally, you will know the joyful history of Father's day.

Importance of Father's day:

Father, in literal terms is the motherboard of your life, who is the person responsible to frame the way and ensure that you don't progress towards the wrong direction.

Though he may not show you enough sympathy when you fall, but he would be the only person to give the push to your rise.

A father doesn't tell you that he loves you; He shows you.

In all over the world, the day is celebrated by cakes, gifts and flowers, but it has been a cultural adaptability in India that we have even converted this tradition according to our culture. In India, this day now begins with touching the feet and hugging the father.

History of Father's day:

The day finds its legacy from a mining mishap tragedy that held in USA. Hundreds of men lost their life on this day of 5th July 1908. And due to this incident, Grace Golden, who was the daughter of a dedicated minister managed to organize a service for all the dead men who couldn’t be saved in the tragic incident.

Further another incident connected to this day is about a girl named Sanora Smart Dodd, who was the daughter of William Jackson Smart, a civil war veteran. William was the single parent who had raised Sanora and 5 siblings alone.

So, Sanora wanted to celebrate Father's day in her father's honor. So, after completing her education, Dodd started promoting the idea of Father’s Day at a national level.

Gradually, the day became increasingly popular in the year 1972. During this year, former US President Richard Nixon signed a declaration. Thereon, people started observing every third Sunday of the month of June as Father’s Day every year.

The dedication in both these incidents explain us a lot about the value of father in the life of people.

So I have a question for all my audience reading this,

Is one day enough, if it is to be dedicated to the efforts of our father?

Is it enough??

  • Yes

  • NO
