So we can clearly see that the CAA is the law to confer the citizenship, not to deprive any. So how it can be unconstitutional

Here for presenting my views in the favor of one of the most controversial topics of last 3 years, Citizenship amendment act.

You all probably might be thinking that I am going to start my debate by the phrases like “Atithi Devo Bhava”, but I am not going to do that as I am sure that you might have heard such thing many times in last 3 years.

The main motive of mine is to present the real benefits and advantages of this act. And I surely will be countering all the criticisms in my capacity.

So the most important point to be highlighted is that India is providing help to religious minorities that are Hindus, Christians, Buddhists and Jains of the 3 countries Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan to seek Indian citizenship, if they are facing any kind of persecution in their own country, providing them a better lifestyle rather than calling them refugee.

So tell me if there something wrong in helping those people.

Now I am sure one of the criticism that may be raised is that why aren’t we allowing Muslim people so the countries that have been named are themselves with their state religion is Islam. And if the battle is among Muslims, it will be ethnic not religious.

We must also see the other main points mentioned in the act, that this citizenship would not be applicable to illegal migrants living in North East. So this bill is clearly protecting rights of tribal.

And this act not only extends not only to refugees but also to people of religious minority people of these countries who wants the Indian citizenship, by reducing the naturalization period for them to be only 5 years.

So we can clearly see that the CAA is the law to confer the citizenship, not to deprive any. So how it can be unconstitutional

Now my words will be for those who say this act is against fundamental rights.

Mainly the articles 14, 15, and 21. How can CAA affect right to equality, as equality treats “likes like and unlikes unlike”.

And further article 15 and 21 on which this bill is being criticized are the articles that are only available to citizens, these can’t be criticized at point that these are not given to international citizens.
